Ernakulam, April 1 -- Keralam Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday commented on the arrest of Malayalam director-producer Ranjith, stating that he is not fully aware of the details of the case.

Ranjith was taken into custody from Thodupuzha after a young actress accused him of an alleged sexual assault during a film shoot. He was later produced before a magistrate and sent the Malayalam director to judicial custody for 14 days. Ranjith is currently lodged in Ernakulam Sub Jail.

During a press conference, the Chief Minister said he does not have "precise information" about the case yet and has only read about it like others.
