"No reciprocity - no access": Trump orders removal of Canadian products from US procurement program
Washington, Sept. 8 -- US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday (local time) that he has ordered federal agencies to stop buying Canadian products through the government's main purchasing catalogue until Ottawa provides equal market access to American businesses and farmers.
The directive orders the General Services Administration (GSA) and the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) to immediately begin removing Canadian goods from federal purchasing channels, fueling the ongoing trade dispute between Washington and Ottawa.
