Kolkata, July 24 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced the immediate suspension of two Motor Vehicle Inspectors posted at the Rampur checkpost in Paschim Bardhaman after they allegedly harassed a goods carrier driver and demanded an unlawful bribe.

Suvendu Adhikari declared that extortion and administrative abuse will not be tolerated under any circumstances, following a swift transport department crackdown on checkpost officials who illegally seized the truck.

Suvendu Adhikari, in a post on X, emphasised the administration's strict action and detailed the suspension order of of the officers.
