"No criterion that civic poll win means Assembly victory": Raja Warring on AAP's victory in Punjab municipal elections
Chandigarh, May 30 -- Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring on Saturday downplayed the significance of the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) performance in the state municipal elections, asserting that local body poll results should not be seen as an indicator for the upcoming Assembly elections.
Speaking to ANI, Warring said the BJP had also performed poorly in urban areas despite being considered dominant in cities.
"In cities, it is said that the BJP dominates there, but in yesterday's municipal elections, they performed very poorly," Warring said.
