Guwahati, May 6 -- Assam caretaker Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday cleared the path for the formation of a new cabinet by tendering his resignation. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that BJP National President Nitin Nabin appointed JP Nadda and Nayab Singh Saini as central observers to oversee the selection of the next Chief Minister of Assam.

Talking to the reporters, Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "Shri JP Nadda and Nayab Singh Saini have been appointed as Central observers by BJP National President Nitin Nabin.
