New Delhi, Sept. 5 -- Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday accused the Centre of "paralysing and gutting" the country's school and higher education landscape over the past 12 years.

In an X post, Kharge asserted that the future of an entire generation of India's youth has been "recklessly destroyed & sacrificed."

"Modi Govt has paralysed and systematically gutted education over the last 12 years. The future of an entire generation of India's youth has been recklessly destroyed & sacrificed," he said.

A video attached to the post cited extensive figures targeting the government's infrastructure record, claiming that 94,000 government schools have been closed under BJP rule, averaging 25 closures per day.
