Raipur, Aug. 23 -- Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday expressed concern over what he described as "Love Jihad" and said that women and girls must be made aware of the risks associated with such cases.

Speaking at a book release ceremony at Guru Ghasidas Museum in Raipur, CM Sai said, "Especially given that Love Jihad is a stain on our country...it is truly unfortunate that our sisters and daughters are falling victim to it."

"Perpetrators conceal their identities and even change their names to lure our sisters and daughters into a web of love; by the time the situation escalates, it is often too late to turn back, and their lives are ruined," Sai said.
