Lucknow, Oct. 26 -- Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) on Monday acknowledged the bizarre-looking names in the state voter list, stating that the Election Commission is looking into the reasons for such mistakes.

In a statement posted on X, the UP CEO said that action will be taken against the person responsible for forgery of voter slips.

The Commission has also urged media and the public to verify the information before posting on social media.
