"KL Rahul has been test captain before": Chief selector Agarkar explains Test vice-captain choice
Guwahati, May 19 -- Indian men's cricket team's chief selector Ajit Agarkar said KL Rahul was appointed Test vice-captain primarily due to his experience and leadership credentials, having previously captained India in the format.
Agarkar added that the move was not made with a long-term "futuristic" plan in mind, but because Rahul provides stability and leadership support if captain Shubman Gill is unavailable. He also praised Rahul's recent performances in England and the West Indies.
