New Delhi, Sept. 13 -- Congress leader Pawan Khera on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the Union government over an all-vegetarian menu served to visiting foreign dignitaries, accusing the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of "imposing its dietary preferences" on international guests.

Sharing a photograph of the official banquet menu on social media platform X, Khera questioned why India's rich non-vegetarian culinary tradition was excluded from the diplomatic spread.

"The BJP's habit of imposing its dietary preferences on fellow Indians is already deeply problematic. Now, they have taken it a step further by imposing their own choices on dignitaries from across the world," Khera wrote.
