New Delhi, Aug. 22 -- Congress MP Jairam Ramesh on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Central government, targeting it over the issue of inflation and the recent spike in prices of basic commodities, including flour, rice, sugar, and oil.

In a post on X, Ramesh argued that current inflation has "broken the back" of the common man due to the wrong policies of the Centre. He noted that the recent rise in prices has not only shaken the budget of ordinary households but has also impacted "the plate and daily expenses" of the public.
