Kolkata, July 18 -- Following the demolition of Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee's party office, West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Samik Bhattacharya backed the administrative action, stating that the government is strictly targeting "unauthorised constructions".

Speaking to ANI on the demolition drive, Bhattacharya asserted that the decisions were made following a thorough verification of all legal records.

"The government is demolishing unauthorised constructions. The government has taken its decisions after examining all the documents," the West Bengal BJP chief said.
