London, Oct. 31 -- Following England's failure to qualify for the Tri-Series final in Pakistan, specialist mentor Kevin Pietersen clarified that his role with the team is that of a consultant rather than a full-time employee.

He emphasised that he would not be accompanying the white-ball side for every match over the next 12 months and said that he would travel to Australia with the England team.

"Just need to clear something up once and for all. I am a consultant to the England Cricket Team. I am not a full-time employee.
