New Delhi, Oct. 4 -- Members of the Indian boxing contingent received a warm reception upon their arrival in New Delhi after securing medals at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan. Among the returning athletes was heavyweight boxer Narender Berwal, who secured the bronze medal in the men's +90kg boxing category.

Berwal expressed that the coaching and support staff enabled a strong start at the multi-sport event, adding that his goal is to qualify for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

"The feeling is really good. Now my goal is to qualify for the Olympics. The credit goes to the whole staff. In my opinion, we delivered our best performance right at the start," he said.
