Srinagar, Aug. 21 -- Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday backed Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi as Congress held a sit-in protest at Sansad Marg Police Station, demanding an FIR over the use of pellet guns against a protester on July 20.

Following the protest, the Delhi Police registered an FIR concerning the alleged use of pellet guns during the July 20 protests in the national capital. The case has been registered under Sections 118 and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), dealing with voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means and acts endangering life or personal safety.
