Washington DC, Sept. 3 -- US President Donald Trump on Wednesday (local time) said the renaming of Lake Ontario to "Lake America" was "complete, ratified, and binding" after Apple Maps updated the name for users in the United States, following a similar change by Google Maps.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump called the name change "very important".

"Apple Maps has just announced that it has changed the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America, so now that very important change of names, between Google Maps and Apple Maps, is complete, ratified, and binding. Thank you for your attention to this matter!" his post read.
