Beijing, July 23 -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said that China and India should view each other as "partners, not competitors, and opportunities, not threats," as he met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in Manila, calling for stronger bilateral ties, closer coordination in multilateral forums and enhanced cooperation between the two countries.

According to the Chinese foreign ministry readout, Wang on Wednesday said the meetings between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Kazan and Tianjin had "guided China-India relations onto the right track of improvement and development."
