New Delhi, Oct. 6 -- Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader John Brittas on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the election machinery, asserting that top election officials have forfeited all moral authority to remain in office following severe judicial strictures over voter deletions.

As opposition MPs started arriving in Parliament ahead of a planned march toward the Election Commission headquarters, Brittas accused Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar and his administration of misleading the country regarding controversial procedural modifications to Form 6 and the mass disenfranchisement of voters under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
