'Blackmailing tactics to instil fear': KC Venugopal urges PM Modi to 'withdraw' new Foreign Contribution Regulation Amendment 2026 rules
New Delhi, June 27 -- Congress MP KC Venugopal has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to 'immediately withdraw' the recently notified Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) Amendment Rules 2026. The senior leader alleged that the new rules are "blackmailing tactics to instil fear among people and for political benefits."
Speaking to ANI, KC Venugopal asserted that the updated FCRA guidelines are being used to target and 'intimidate' voluntary organisations.
