"BJP wants to incite conflict between Hindus and Muslims": AAP's Sanjay Singh on Saharanpur mosque demolition
Lucknow, Sept. 5 -- Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Saturday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the demolition of a mosque in Saharanpur, saying the move violates the Constitution and the Places of Worship Act, 1991.
Speaking to ANI, Singh said, "This is a blatant violation of the country's Constitution. We have the 'Places of Worship Act,' which ensures that no religious site existing prior to 1947-whether a temple, mosque, gurudwara, or church-can be tampered with. This mosque in Saharanpur had existed since 1911; yet, a bulldozer was sent to demolish it."
