Lucknow, Sept. 30 -- Congress leader P Chidambaram on Wednesday targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the conduct of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in the country, describing the ruling party's alleged response to the Congress Working Committee (CWC) resolution and its defence of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar as pathetic.

In a post on X, Chidambaram called for the restoration of voting rights of 13 crore 30 lakh people, demanding an explanation from the BJP regarding the alleged deletion of 14 per cent of the adult population of India across 20 states under the SIR exercise.
