Hyderabad, Aug. 27 -- AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday said his party has not yet finalised the number of seats it will contest in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, but asserted that AIMIM will definitely fight the polls and emerge stronger.

Rejecting the perception of AIMIM as a 'vote-cutting' party, Owaisi said the party's organisational strength and support for it as a political alternative have grown, citing the Bihar elections as having further strengthened the trend.

He also expressed confidence that "many MLAs" from AIMIM will be elected in the upcoming UP polls.
