Jakarta, Sept. 7 -- The Whoosh high-speed rail service connecting Jakarta and Bandung is operating normally despite potential volcanic ash exposure, with PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) conducting layered safety checks along the route, its spokesperson said Monday.

Eva Chairunisa, general manager of corporate secretary at KCIC, said monitoring involves operations, safety, rolling stock, and infrastructure units, including a pre-service inspection train run.

"Based on monitoring results so far, all Whoosh rolling stock and infrastructure are functioning normally and no problems have been found that disrupt operations. Whoosh continues to operate safely and normally, with passenger safety as the top priority," Chairunisa said in a ...
