Indonesia, April 22 -- Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka on Tuesday urged the Indonesian military and police to step up coordination to maintain security in Yahukimo, Highland Papua, saying stability is essential for delivering priority government programs in the remote district.

"I thank the TNI and Polri for your hard work, but please continue strengthening security here. Our goal is to bring the president's priority programs for the benefit of local communities," he said.

Speaking during a dialogue at a military district command base in Dekai on April 21, Gibran stressed his visit was focused on ensuring residents can access people-oriented programs initiated by President Prabowo Subianto.
