VP Gibran reviews revitalized Banyuwangi market with tourism concept
Indonesia, July 10 -- Banyuwangi Main Market has been transformed into a tourism-oriented marketplace through a revitalization program, a development reviewed by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka during his working visit to Banyuwangi District, East Java, on Friday.
Accompanied by East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Banyuwangi District Head Ipuk Fiestiandani, Gibran toured the market, which features architecture inspired by the Osing culture.
The vice president inspected several sections of the market, including its main entrance, kiosks, and stalls. The facility was built by the Ministry of Public Works at a cost of approximately Rp152 billion (around US$9.3 million).
