Kupang, April 6 -- Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka on Monday backed a proposal to include Kupang's Easter Parade Festival in Indonesia's national religious tourism agenda, citing its potential to boost local economies.
"I just learned that this Easter parade has been proposed for inclusion. It is a good initiative that deserves support," he said during a visit to Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
Speaking at the opening of the 30th Evangelical Christian Church in Timor (GMIT) Easter Parade Festival, Gibran said the central government would follow up by strengthening promotion, improving infrastructure and supporting local communities and small businesses.
