Jakarta, Sept. 16 -- Thao Anh Tran, Charge d'Affaires ad interim of the US Mission to ASEAN, said Indonesia could serve as a regional model for developing strategic trade management, citing its economic size and global trade role.

Speaking at the 5th Annual Southeast Asia Forum on Export Controls in Jakarta on Wednesday, Tran said Indonesia's position as Southeast Asia's largest economy gave it an opportunity to shape regional practices.

She said Indonesia could demonstrate strategic trade management through rigorous security, transparency and international cooperation.
