Jakarta, Sept. 27 -- TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto said the Indonesian military's 81st anniversary ceremony on Oct. 5 will be held simply at TNI headquarters in East Jakarta as personnel remain deployed for disaster response.

Agus said in Jakarta on Sunday that TNI personnel who would normally attend the ceremony were still deployed in several disaster-hit areas.

"The TNI anniversary will be held simply at headquarters because many troops who would attend the ceremony are in disaster-hit areas," he said.

Agus said TNI personnel were still assisting the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and related ministries with disaster response in several regions.
