TNI AU confirms no injuries on Sukhoi jet off runway in S Sulawesi
Indonesia, Aug. 24 -- The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) has confirmed that the crew of a Sukhoi Su-30MK2 fighter jet is safe after the aircraft overran the western runway at Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Maros District, South Sulawesi.
The incident occurred at approximately 11 a.m. local time (WITA; GMT+8) on Monday during a simulated take-off. The exercise was part of a series of test flights following a major maintenance overhaul.
Air Force spokesperson First Marshal I Nyoman Suadnyana confirmed that no injuries were reported.
