Jakarta, April 14 -- Social media giant TikTok announced that it has adjusted the minimum age to access its platform in Indonesia to comply with the country's new regulation on child protection in digital platforms.
As stated on TikTok's official website and confirmed on Tuesday, the new policy aligns with Government Regulation No. 17 of 2025 regarding Electronic System Governance for Child Protection (PP Tunas).
"We deeply respect the guidance from the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi), which stipulates that digital platforms, including TikTok, must clearly be intended for users aged 16 and older," the company said in a statement.
