Kota Bandung, Aug. 31 -- Indonesia's military (TNI), is conducting the 2026 Super Garuda Shield (SGS) joint exercise involving 4,743 personnel from 21 countries to test troops' operational readiness, strengthen defense diplomacy and enhance their ability to respond to various security challenges.

TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto said Super Garuda Shield is an annual exercise held at various locations across Indonesia from Aug. 31 to Sept. 11, 2026.

"Super Garuda Shield is held every year in Indonesia. This year, 21 countries are participating, with a total of 4,743 personnel taking part in 12 exercise activities," Agus said in Bandung on Monday.
