Jakarta, March 25 -- Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian stated that the estimated budget required for post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction in Sumatra reaches Rp130 trillion (approximately US$7.69 billion) over three years.
The budget will be allocated to various disaster-affected sectors, ranging from housing and infrastructure to schools, houses of worship, economic hubs, and agriculture.
He said in Jakarta on Wednesday that the Ministry of Public Works had proposed around Rp70 trillion for permanent infrastructure repairs.
