Jakarta, May 28 -- Indonesia has entered the permanent recovery phase following late-2025 floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra, with rehabilitation and reconstruction programs scheduled through 2028, a government task force said on Thursday.

The Sumatra Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Acceleration Task Force said the recovery phase would be implemented gradually under a long-term reconstruction plan covering affected regions.

Task force chairman Muhammad Tito Karnavian said post-disaster management consists of three stages: emergency response, transition and permanent recovery.
