Jakarta, June 3 -- The Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) said halal certification for Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) helps ensure the quality and halal compliance of food distributed through the Free Nutritious Meals program.

"The presence of halal certification assures that food and beverages served under the program meet established halal standards," BPJPH Deputy Mamat Salamet Burhanudin said in a statement on Wednesday.

He said halal certification is an important component of the program because it guarantees the halal status of food and beverages consumed by beneficiaries.
