Jakarta, Oct. 14 -- The government aims to stock about 8,000 Red and White Village Cooperatives (KDKMP) with basic necessities and operational facilities by the end of October, Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan said on Wednesday.

"We will finish this by the end of the month, hopefully the 8,000 can be completed," Hasan said after chairing a limited coordination meeting.

He said the government is speeding up supplies so the cooperatives can gradually serve the public, especially in distributing basic necessities and subsidized goods.

The goods include subsidized fertilizer, sugar, cooking oil, liquefied petroleum gas and rice from the Food Supply and Price Stabilization (SPHP) program of state logistics agency Bulog....
