Jakarta, April 30 -- Head of the Greater Jakarta Police Public Relations Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto said that some 24,980 personnel will be deployed to secure the 2026 May Day Fiesta at the National Monument (Monas) on Friday.

"The Greater Jakarta Police, together with the Indonesian Military (TNI), local government, security personnel, and related elements, have prepared 24,980 personnel to ensure that the 2026 May Day event can proceed safely," Hermanto said here on Thursday.

He said the 24,980 joint personnel consist of 15,575 police personnel, 6,003 military personnel, 1,002 personnel from the Jakarta Provincial Government, 400 internal security personnel, and two thousand public order security personnel.
