Soekarno-Hatta Airport resumes flights as volcanic ash clears
Tangerang, Banten, Sept. 8 -- Soekarno-Hatta International Airport processed 324 flights by Tuesday afternoon as operations gradually returned to normal following temporary disruptions caused by volcanic ash from Mount Anak Krakatau, airport operator InJourney Airports announced.
The resumed air traffic comprised 208 departures and 116 arrivals after aviation authorities issued updated Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) clearing flight paths across the region.
"All air corridors have been reopened. Routes to various destinations-including Medan and Aceh-are safe," Assistant Deputy of Communication & Legal at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Yudistiawan said here on Tuesday.
