Jakarta, Aug. 14 -- President Prabowo Subianto said efficiency measures and restructuring carried out at state-owned enterprises (SOEs) had saved the government approximately Rp50 trillion (US$2.8 billion) in overhead costs as of 2026.

"This is perhaps the largest corporate restructuring in the world. By streamlining the number of SOEs, we have saved approximately Rp50 trillion in overhead costs to date," Prabowo said in Jakarta on Friday.

He made the statement during the 2026 Annual Session of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) and the Regional Representatives Council (DPD RI).
