Malang, East Java, March 30 -- Indonesia's Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf said the government is optimistic that digitizing social assistance will improve accuracy and ensure aid reaches intended beneficiaries more effectively.

Yusuf, known as Gus Ipul, said the digital system has been piloted in Banyuwangi, East Java, and will be expanded to 40 districts and cities nationwide.

"If successful, it will be implemented nationally. This digitalization aims to create a more precise distribution system so aid can better reach its targets," he said at a press conference in Malang, East Java, on Monday.
