Jakarta, Oct. 23 -- Deputy Public Works Minister Diana Kusumastuti said that handling slum areas, such as the revitalization of Mrican Kampung in Yogyakarta, could give kampung or settlement added value.

"From here we see that we must collaborate and there must be creativity, so we can create a kampung, a handling of an area that was once slum into a kampung that is very useful and has added value," Kusumastuti said at a press conference on the sidelines of the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) here on Friday.

One example, according to her, is the handling of Mrican Kampung in Yogyakarta, which used to be a slum settlement.
