Jakarta, April 28 -- PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) confirmed that six to seven passengers remain trapped inside a commuter train carriage following a collision with the Argo Bromo Anggrek service at Bekasi Timur Station on Monday night.
Chief Executive Bobby Rasyidin stated early Tuesday that the victims are still pinned inside the KRL (Commuter Line) carriage, necessitating complex evacuation efforts to reach them safely.
The collision between the commuter train and the intercity service resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries at the West Java station.
Rasyidin said those trapped are confined within damaged compartments, requiring heavy equipment and cutting operations to accelerate rescue efforts and free survivors.
