Indonesia, July 23 -- Indonesia's Second Lady Selvi Ananda called on parents and relevant stakeholders to strengthen character education for children during the main event commemorating the 42nd National Children's Day (HAN) on Thursday.

"Character education is the primary foundation for nurturing golden generations for Indonesia in the future," she remarked at Tugu Sirih Square in Tanjungpinang City, Riau Islands Province.

Selvi stressed the importance of initiating character education at early age through proper parenting, urging active roles from families, schools, and communities.
