School gadget restrictions to boost student concentration: Minister
Jakarta, July 15 -- Indonesia's Primary and Secondary Education Minister Abdul Mu'ti stated here on Wednesday that a new restriction on the use of gadgets for students in schools aims to minimise classroom distractions and enhance students' learning concentration.
According to Circular Letter Number 18 of 2026 on Restrictions on the Use of Electronic Devices in Educational Institutions, the inappropriate use of gadgets within school environments can potentially diminish students' focus and degrade the quality of peer interactions.
It may also raise the risk of digital technology misuse, which can adversely affect the students' physical and mental health.
