Bondowoso, Aug. 4 -- A joint search and rescue team was deployed Tuesday to locate two missing hikers on Mount Piramid in East Java, after their abandoned motorcycle raised alarms with local residents.

The missing individuals were identified as MF, a 51-year-old hiker from Surabaya, and INL, a 35-year-old local mountain guide from Bondowoso.

"After receiving the report, our rescue team from the Jember SAR Post was immediately deployed to the location to conduct search operations alongside joint SAR elements," said I Made Oka Astawa, Head of the Banyuwangi Search and Rescue Office.
