Jakarta, March 3 -- Indonesia's National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has temporarily suspended 49 Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) kitchens as part of a comprehensive review of the government's free meal program.
"This is part of the ongoing improvement and oversight process we are conducting," BGN Head Dadan Hindayana said Tuesday in Jakarta.
Out of the suspended kitchens, four Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) have been cleared to resume operations after meeting BGN standards.
The cleared units are located in Bengkulu, South Kalimantan, and Papua provinces, he added.
"Of those we suspended, four have been authorized to reopen because they completed all the corrective actions we requested," Hindayana said.
