Garut, West Java, March 14 -- Indonesia has prepared a series of measures to anticipate traffic congestion during the peak of the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming travel period expected on March 18, Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi said on Saturday.
Speaking to reporters in Garut, Purwagandhi said the government is implementing a work-from-anywhere (WFA) policy to help manage the surge in mobility and maintain smoother traffic conditions during the holiday migration.
The policy is intended to spread travel departures over several days rather than concentrating them on a single peak day.
"With the implementation of WFA, we hope travel flows can be distributed across earlier dates," the minister said.
