Jakarta, April 7 -- Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono says 100 Red-and-White Fishermen Villages (KNMP) are targeted for completion by the end of May 2026.

Trenggono made the announcement after a limited meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace Complex on Tuesday.

He stated that the government is accelerating the KNMP development as part of strengthening the national coastal economy.

The Red and White Fishermen Villages (KNMP) program aims to transform fishermen villages into modern, productive, and competitive hubs by improving fishermen's welfare through facility upgrades and better market access.
