RI elected to UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Committee 2026-2030
Jakarta, June 18 -- Indonesia has been elected as a member of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) for the period of 2026-2030.
In a press release received here on Thursday, the Indonesian Foreign Ministry said Indonesia won the vote in Paris during the 11th General Assembly of the States Parties to the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in the UNESCO Headquarters.
Indonesia successfully secured its seat following a highly competitive election within Group IV (Asia-Pacific), where four countries were elected out of six candidates. In addition to Indonesia, the countries elected from Group IV were Japan, Philippines, and Cambodia.
