Jakarta, May 18 -- Indonesia's Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) is considering regulation draft requiring social media users to register its accounts using their mobile phone numbers.

Speaking during a working meeting with Commission I of the House of Representatives at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Monday, this minister Meutya Hafid said the draft was still under public consultation.

"This is what we are currently formulating through public consultation, so that people joining social media would be required to provide their phone numbers, making their identities clear," Hafid said.
