Jakarta, Aug. 28 -- Indonesia's Ministry of Manpower has strengthened cooperation with Japan's Yamaguchi Prefecture on a technical internship program for Indonesian workers through a new memorandum of cooperation, the ministry said Friday.

The agreement covers efforts to increase the placement and acceptance of Indonesian participants in the technical internship program, as well as information sharing, problem-solving and participant protection during their placements, the ministry said.

"This signing marks an important milestone in strengthening Indonesia-Japan cooperation, particularly in human resource development and technical internships," Ministry of Manpower Secretary General Cris Kuntadi said.
